Project Communication DemonstrationThis demonstration was produced to communicate a major documentation project Balon is managing. The presentation shows the scope of the project as well as the goals and timetable for implementation. It also calls for those who are interested in the project to get involved. The style is relaxed, which is typical of Balon's productions. We aim to keep our presentations and training engaging to maintain audience interest. View Demonstration

blasting training Balon reviewed the documentation and training for the Drill and Blast Department of one of the world's largest mining companies. A risk assessment was completed by Balon with the resulting report indicating that map reading (among others) was an important skill that required immediate training. The package shown in this demonstration is an example of one of the animated training packages produced. Note the voice-over was done by site based operators (three were used). This aimed to create greater buy in by utilising in house talent to approve and record the script. It created a buzz within the team when they heard their workmates voice and gave the training extra credibility. Balon's deliverables for this project were training documentation and competency based assessments for all roles, as well as animated training packages for critical tasks. The project was guided at every step by risk based processes. View Demonstration

EMPLOYEE SHARE PLAN OFFERA major Australian resources company historically had a low uptake of its employee share plan offers. For its 2007 offer, Balon was engaged to develop a communication strategy for the offer, with the goal of increasing employee participation in the scheme through greater awareness and understanding of it. The communication initiatives developed included posters, intranet advertising, letters of offer, booklets and MD communication. The result was a 75% employee participation rate in the scheme, a significant increase on previous years. View Extract from the Offer Booklet
