Marcus Balon - Director

Marcus has a 20 year career developing management system documentation. His passion is simplifying an organisation's documentation to make it more effective, more accessible, better utilised and risk based. He has improved the systems of some of the world's largest companies in industries as diverse as rail, mining and brewing and this experience enables him to facilitate high risk and corporate compliance projects. Marcus' unique style actively engages teams throughout the development process to ensure ownership and outcomes.

Michael Taylor - Director

Michael’s background as an engineering manager has given him extensive experience in project management of systems techniques and capital projects. He also has broad presentation and training design experience, working in desktop publishing roles in Australia and London. This unique mix of project management and graphic design capability puts him in a unique position to manage training and documentation projects in industrial and mining applications.

Brett Harbottle - PRINCIPAL Consultant

Brett specialises in optimising operational safety, efficiency, quality and productivity. A former production and quality assurance manager, Brett managed a continuous improvement and innovation program within one of Australia’s largest companies. His project management experience in the installation and commissioning of new production facilities, together with his safety management skills and a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, make him a highly valued member of our team.

CRAIG FLETCHER - Senior Consultant

Craig is an experienced safety, quality assurance, business systems and documentation manager. His previous experience includes the development and implementation of safety, environmental and training systems within international consumer goods companies. This together with more than ten years experience as a Workplace Health and Safety Officer and a Certificate IV in Training and Assesment, places him in a strong position to offer an informed and fresh view on operational aspects within organisations.

Michelle Taylor - Senior Communications CONSULTANT

Michelle has ten year's corporate communication experience in the resources industry and specialises in employee communication. She has worked with all levels of management and site personnel to develop effective two way communication strategies that increase awareness and productivity and ensure the successful implementation of new initiatives in the workplace. Michelle also has presentation and documentation design experience, utilised in the development of our training materials.   

Joshua GRUBB - CONSULTANT

Josh has a scientific background, holding a Masters degree in Health Science. He specialises in systems and quality based writing, and has produced numerous research publications. Through this experience, he has worked closely with individuals and teams to collect information, develop procedures and analyse data to better understand and improve systems.   

Meng Chua - DESIGN TEAM MANAGer

Meng directs the creative process at Balon. He specialises in 3D modelling and animation and has a personal interest in creating training that is visually exciting and meaningful to the audience while maintaining the principles of learning effectiveness. 

CHLOE McMAHON - MULTIMEDIA AND GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Chloe possesses a wealth of experience in graphic design and multimedia. Having previously operated her own design company, she is a firm believer that you must be flexible in tailoring unique solutions to individual client needs. With a Bachelor of Design, she has spent many years studying the latest in graphic techniques and software. Coupled with her passion for great design, Chloe ensures that all work created is to the highest industry standard.

KATTIE MUIR - MULTIMEDIA AND GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Kattie is a multiskilled designer with diverse experience in graphic, multimedia and web design together with project management, advertising and usability consultation. In her own words, she finds design exciting, especially the opportunity to be creative and respond to its constantly changing direction. She holds a Bachelor of Design, majoring in graphic design and minoring in internet design.

ROSS HALL - 3D MULTIMEDIA DESIGNER

Ross’s skill range covers anything and everything multimedia: 3D modelling and animation, digital painting, motion graphics and video-editing.  His vocational background in Flash based e-learning and web-design was gained from creating safety training courses and 3D induction videos for a range of global oil and gas operators. He is committed to keeping up-to-date with any advances in technology and software to ensure he remains efficient in his work.

DANIELLE HOWARD - OFFICE MANAGER

Danielle is responsible for the financial and administrative aspects of Balon’s business including project tracking and reporting. She is a registered teacher with a background and interest in science education.
